Quick Review - Kiehl's Yerba Mate Toner

I bought this as I’d run out of my favourite Molton Brown toner and I wanted to try something new for the summer – well what’s left of it. Normally I would have gone for Kiehl’s Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion for oily skin but I’m going to start using Alpha H Liquid Gold soon, so I wanted something gentle just in case my skin reacts badly to the Alpha H.

This doesn’t have much of a scent but what you can smell is quite herbally as the name suggests. It gently takes off traces of facial mask and makeup and it won’t make your skin feel tight and dry afterwards. At first it might feel like it’s not doing anything but it makes my skin feel really refreshed and clean. This retails for £24.00 at Kiehl’s or John Lewis and there is also Yerba Mate Cleanser and Lotion available in the range.

I know a lot SA’s will debate whether or not toner is necessary depending on which cosmetic company they work for. I’ve always enjoyed using it because I like the way it makes my skin feel afterwards. What do you think ladies – is toner part of your skincare regime?

Yeah it is one of those things that gets forgotten, especially when I run out of cotton pads!
