I love all things natural, and this fabulous body scrub is no exception. It smells deliciously citrusy – but ‘really’ citrusy, not that harsh artificial lemony fragrance that a lot of citrus scented cosmetics have. It even tastes of real grapefruit juice (don’t ask!).
The texture is pleasantly thick, it needs a bit of a stir as the liquid settles on the top, but it is in no way oily, as most of the other body scrubs I have are. The scrub is quite harsh on the skin, but I quite like that as it feels like it’s doing something, and the scrubby bits stay until you wash them off, rather than melting and disappearing before you’ve managed to do any serious scrubbing.
The only drawback to the lack of oil is that I felt that I really needed to moisturise afterwards as my skin felt a bit tight, but it’s a great product for using in the morning, as the smell is fresh and invigorating and the scrubbing action really wakes you up and gets the circulation going.
As the scrub is quite harsh, I would probably limit my use to once a week, but it’s a great wake up when I’m feeling a bit sluggish in a morning. I will certainly be looking into what other products Alvin Connor have to offer, and may add some to my Christmas list!
