Being the kind of person that feels the cold on the warmest of days, the thought of using a product called ‘body ice sorbet’ was about as appealing as using a moisturiser made from cold rice pudding. However, having booked a holiday to the Algarve where the temperature was promised to be in the high 30s, I spied the perfect opportunity to try it out, and I was certainly glad I did!
It was hot, to say the least, and smothering this cool gel all over my sun burnt shoulders and parts of me that only see the light of day once a year by a swimming pool, felt like heaven. The gel is not too thick, and a little goes a long way. Not only was it cooling, but it was very moisturising too, and my skin felt soft for hours after using it without feeling sticky. The cooling effect lasted for quite a while too, which was just what I needed after a long day at the beach.
I love the fresh citrusy smell of the L’Occitaine verbena range anyway, and this moisturising gel is perfect for cooling down on hot summer days as well as providing a boost of moisture to prolong that holiday tan. It has been added to my list of suitcase essentials for next year. Bring on the holidays!
The Verbena range is quite extensive including this oh so cute leaf soap and soap dish. Not that I would let anyone use it – that’s when you know you’ve grown up btw. You buy things that are just for show!
