As you know shower gels are something I get very excited about. At one point I had over 30 of them but I’ve managed to get that down to a more reasonable under 10. I’ve been more selective lately about what I use to wash my bod, so when I was given the opportunity to try something from Big Green Smile I went straight to the shower gel section to see what was on offer.
The biggest issue I find with environmentally friendly shower gels and shampoos is the low foam factor. As much as we read about ‘no poo’ and that your cleansers don’t need lots of foam it’s hard to break the habit. Who wants to take a shower or bath without some decent suds?
Faith in Nature seem to have all the bases covered to create a really great product with minimal impact on the environment whilst being kind to critters:
- Paraben free
- No SLS/SLES
- No artificial colourants
- Not tested on animals
- Vegan Society approved
- Fully biodegradable
- Recyclable packaging
Grapefruit & Orange Shower Gel/Foam Bath - This is your typical uplifting cleanser that is great for early mornings.
Chocolate Shower Gel/Foam Bath - While this does have a chocolately type scent it’s not sweet or overpowering. I think it reminds me more of old-fashioned cola in a glass bottle.
You will notice that both shower gels are thinner than your typical drug store brands as there are no thickeners to bulk it out. The colours may also vary as it’s a natural product. Overall I’m impressed with Faith in Nature and I will be buying my shampoo/conditioner/moisturiser from them when my current ones run out. They also sell their shower gels in 5L containers so if you have room in your bathroom to stockpile these are a good bargain.
