When I was growing up the only tool involved in washing my face was a flannel/wash cloth. I think I tried a loofah once but that as you can imagine that didn’t end up well. I’ve ever been one to get hooked on the latest gadget when it comes to skincare or hair removal but I did purchase two rather expensive beauty tools in the last five years and now they are sitting around collecting dust…
Zeno Acne Clearing Treatment Device
This clunky blue device looks like a dictaphone or remote control. It heats up and is meant to be used on the those spots that don’t break the skin or the ones that are about to come to a head. The heat is supposed to kill the bacteria in the spot thus reducing it and eventually it dries up and goes away. James laughed when I bought it and even more when I used it. This cost £99 in Boots back in 2009 and I did use it for about a year and a bit. However after some I found I didn’t get the kind of spots it’s meant to destroy. It doesn’t help with blackheads so I’ve had to use other products for those.
Boots no longer sells Zeno and the Zeno website seems to have disappeared!
Now I bought this back in 2010 thinking it was an exfoliating tool because that’s what it looks like. However after using it half a dozen times I had to questions why I spent £££ on it. I’ve watched countless videos on how it’s supposed to work, tried different cleansers and I just don’t get it. I know they do different brush types, but to be honest I can’t be arsed with all that faffing around.
I know other beauty bloggers have said the Clarisonic has really improved their skin and it’s still going strong so clearly works for others.
